Your opinion is noted, but may I add that you may want to educate yourself on the UHC of Canada, UK and others, and maybe read this whole thread as may from countries with UHC disagree with your blanket statement.
As for you political opinions, they are probably better post on another forum, not here.

Refer to the link I posted in my above response.

BTW, I feel your opinion on morality and especially religion would be better posted on another forum, not here.

Sometimes, I think, a treatment that is proven to work elsewhere will not be approved in the U.S. because it is not part of the current drug marketing campaign. I wonder how many lives this effects?

If this link is the only thing you are basing your opinions on, maybe you need to do a little more research.

please enlighten me??

There is a list of approved drugs in the U.S..
You do not have the option to choose a drug not on the list, unless you leave the country to buy.
I cannot back it up at this time, but I'd guess there are treatments that are approved and some not approved in this country.

we have pretty much the same treatment options available to us that you do...yes it takes a little longer for a "new" drug to be approved because health canada wants to insure the safety and test it further...and make sure that the claims are indeed true...just because our government will not jump on the band wagon of the major drug makers does not mean that our system is sub standard.

That wasn't the issue. Please re-read. Thanks!

Hello.

Here I am again in a very small country thatwould fit twice into one of your states over there. We don't have Wal-mart, here it is called Asda.

It is not doing so well here we have another giant called Tesco. But our government is busy selling off everything in this country to anyone with the money. Only the small business is ours any more.

But we also have a lot of small business. Very small family business.

I am in the process of setting up my own small business, with no help from government. YAY!!!!! (my own little triumph)

Someome else posted after this who made some good points too, I agree about the head of state being a figurehead to some extent, the same applies here.

I really believe that a lot of things here are being driven by big business, but there is still a strong rebellion quietly going on, and to be honest, whatever happens because of government, we did it.

We voted them in.

Mind you I am not Ms average over here, others do not share my philosophies. I think I am right, for me anyway. but that is my own idea, I can not impose my thoughts on others.

All I do know is that if we want to change things then we have to get up and try to do something about it, and if we fail then it shows we are the minority and everyone else wants something different.

I have reached that point and now constantly joke that I am looking for a quiet little wood to go and be a hermit in. I have not found a country where I could go and feel totally safe, but then I am not safe here anymore either.

I worked for a long time with others to try and change the system, and I got tired. I still see a lot wrong here, but it is for someone else to change it now.

France has a health system that is envied here. As does Sweden.

but I would not be welcome there either. lol.....

I am off now... I wish you all well no matter what happens.

Good luck with your own lives, and your health no matter how you choose to go forward.

I've done plenty of research, as I said there are plenty more articles out there. Besides, this lady died because her government's Socialized Health Care system denied her the treatment because it was too expensive...or did you miss that point?

Oh that sounds so good. Who is going to pay for it? I would just love a health care system that could rival the IRS in efficiency and customer service.
