THREAD alerts NOT WORKING

A lot of people are not getting alerts from the threads that we are watching and interacting in. Including me. Does anyone know why?

(I can not figure out the trick for the life of me..I don't know if it's cause I watch TOO many threads that I don't get alerts for them all or what. Even "my" most active thread I only receive alerts sometimes...only seem to get them if I was recently in that thread.)

I was wondering this too. I went through my preferences and all the choices and redid some to see if that would change things. Still under observation...
