So I received my guinea keets from the post office yesterday morning. They did fine all yesterday and overnight. This afternoon I found one dead sprawled out and another seems to have no muscle control. Like the poor thing has vertigo flopping all over. I also have one keet who hasn't grown since arrival but is still walking and eating.

I have them on a 28% turkey/game starter and am keeping on non slip drawer liner with paper towels. Water has been served warm and with probiotics and changed every few hours. Keeping a warm spot of about 97 (has best spread out of chicks).

I have 7 turkeys and had 22 other keets in the brooder. All the other keets have doubled in size.

I've removed the dizzy one and the runt so they don't get trampled or cannibalized into a 10 gallon tank with a thermostat set to 99. I have made them a fresh batch of electrolyte water with a sprinkle of sugar and put mashed food around them.

Any help for them or are they just failure to thrives?

I also re-dipped their beaks in the water as I did for all of them upon arrival.

From what I read keets are small so they need 95-100 for the first few days. When I had it at 95 they were piling up as if they were cold.

Ok..like I said I really don't know, but I was wondering.
I tagged someone to see if she can help you, when ever she gets back online.

So 3 died after having seizures but hours later all the rest are fine. Two of the ones that died were runty from the start. I noticed one tiny red poo so I've got the remainder on corrid and sav a chick electrolytes. I cleaned everything well and have the temps staying at 95-96.

Will be away from home for a few hours so hopefully none more are dead when I come home...

I'm so sorry to hear about your keets.

I start my keets at 95 F but if they were piling up, it does sound like they may have been cool.

Is the area drafty? Do they have a cooler area of the aquarium to go if to to get away from the heat?

Are these day old keets? Day olds shouldn't have had the opportunity to get overwhelmed with coccidiosis yet. Any red poops shouldn't be from coccidiosis. Still, Corid and the probiotics won't hurt anything.

I will note that I hatch my own eggs from my own stock, so I've never had any keets shipped. I've never had an issue as you're experiencing. Are they interested in eating and drinking? I find they are very quick to catch on to feeding just as quick or quicker than chicks.

Sav a Chick usually has electrolytes and vitamins....If it contains vitamins do not use it while you are treating with Corid. Save it for after you have finished the round of Corid.
