Three day old keets fail to thrive?

The corrid dose I gave was the 1.5tsp per gallon.

The electrolytes I added were just electrolytes and I didn't add the vitamin/probiotic powder to the water. I know to avoid probiotics with antibiotics.

Yes, these were hatched the 9th and shipped out. Received on the 11th so it could have been stress related too.

They have voracious appetites and thirsts. I've been providing fresh water 2-3 times a day using a Mason jar style waterer. Free feeding gamebird feed on the floor and in a feeder and removing any food that gets pooped on.

When I left the remainder were all super active and excited to drink the antibiotic water.

I'm hoping I don't come home to any more sick or dead ones and it was just some immune compromised runts.

They all had good access to food and they were eating right up until their final seizure.

None of the food looks or smells off so don't think it was bad feed. With the amount the turkeys are eating I think they'd get sick first if it was the feed. They're on nutrena gamebird starter 28% protein.

I should also mention one purple guinea had a bit of pasty butt this morning and I lightly rag soaked/gave a butt fuzz trim and he's fine and clean now. But it's only the pearl guineas that have died, not the royal purples.

sounds to me like they got chilled during shipping.
I too never had a keet shipped to me.
I hatched thousands of them and had few losses.
.
they can't take getting wet.

i never heard of them getting cocci.

Corid is not an antibiotic.

It's possible. They did come with a heat pack though.

No more deaths as of today. All are eating well and very active. Will continue to do the coccidia treatment just in case it may help anything. Haven't noticed any more runts so hopefully wasn't/isn't anything contagious.

Another pearl guinea looks like he's falling behind in growth today. Anything that can be done for them? I've been periodically dipping his beak so he doesn't get dehydrated and put food around him. He's just suddenly smaller and less active. Like when they all wake up to go explore he stays behind. He *can* walk so don't think it's splay leg, he's just not as active.

First 2 days I had them with the turkey babies since they all shipped together and to teach the turkeys how to eat/drink. I've now separated them as the turkeys are growing much larger faster. They also are pooping much more and I don't want the guineas getting wet from all the poop!

I'm wondering if I got a chilled/bad clutch of pearl guineas since I started with 11 Pearl and 11 purple and have 11 purple and 8 pearl (with one falling behind in growth).

Thankfully still only the one with pasty butt *knocks on wood*

So a 4th (one mentioned above) died today. A 5th one is looking slightly lethargic.

Is it odd it's only the pearls? 4-5 out of 11 seems like more than coincidence.
