Three grown up ducks but only one egg per day?

We are in luck that the are in a building proces; so the whole yard is mud, and mud only. There is 1 bush; and they like to lay eggs under there too. And one dead christmas-tree from last winter. And I found some in the compost-heep, but since that is on the field now that stopped.. but they do not have many 'hiding' places anymore..

Before that it was easter everyday. But what helped was making small wooden low lay-sheds with straw in it close to the house, and some branches on top. They like the safety of feeling hidden when laying; so we recreated that in a way that we can easily find the eggs. And apparently they also feel more safe around us. Under the 1 bush and dead christmastree we also made a box with straw. If you can't get them to lay in the coop, but you would like to know where eggs are, and like mud-free eggs, there is little else to do then make the places they choose to lay more lay-friendly =/ :p
We have 4 spots now; and no more days where eggs are outside those spots. They choose a different one every night though.

Well it looks like my ladies were just taking a little spring break. They are slowly but surely starting to lay again. Friday night I found one dropped by the food tray but it was thin shelled and cracked so they got to eat that one. Then someone went inside the duck house and made a beautiful nest and had one right in the middle. Over the weekend I have been repeatedly checking and looking for hidden eggs. Mine seem to prefer to lay in the house thankfully so I keep checking and yep I keep finding eggs. I have noticed a whole lot of feathers so I am certain they have been molting as well. Nobody has had a hard molt except for Ginger about a month ago though. She was looking pretty rough for a spell but not anymore. The other girls are shedding those old feathers a bit more gracefully than she did. This morning I had 3 big beautiful eggs so....
Remember we were talking about our girls taking a break. Well the other day I went into clean in the Runner/ Buff house and took the pitch fork and sifted through their shaving and found 8 eggs 3 more than I have girls in that house lol. So they had them hid very good.

I am pretty sure you problem was answered but just in case not: ducks will sometimes take winter breaks depending on the breed and age of the duck. Mine did. As they just started laying in December it will take a while to get them back on schedule. Hope you start getting eggs soon! I have about 8 or 9 dozen....

Sneaky little girls! Well mine have started laying again too and boy are they hiding them deep in the pine shavings. And now the eggs are bigger than before. Good job ladies!
