THREE roos, ONE pullet :(

gonna have to get 17-29 more hens or rehome a few roos and then get 5-9 hens. Either way you need more hens

ETA, the hatcheries Tsc gets chicks from if the bin says pullets. they should be mostly girls(They use vent sexing at 1 day old)
Yes exactly, that is what I concluded as well. I’d like to just get more hens but that’s prob not a good idea considering we have zero experience (but we’re doing great so far!)

I think you're right, only pullet I see is the little black one. Don't feel bad I'm in the too many doodles club too and it might get worse lol! :)
Lol! Bummer, I hope not! I have the impression it is very doable to rehome chickens so I’m trying not to stress.

You don’t need that exact number.Maybe try getting fifteen more,if you noticed lots of over breeding downsize or make a pen for an extra roo.First one looks most like. A pullet. The buff colored pen at the end needs a minute,I’m unsure, the black one may be male but I would definitely wait a few weeks.Red/brown one is probably a cockerel.

Could we see a most recent pic of the buff.I had a dominant pullet who had a reddish small waddles and comb, but they were not as prominent as the ones in the pics, accept for the buff. Her face looked identical to his waddles and comb.

This is our first time having chicks so we thought we’d just get 4 to start (I know, I know haha). Long story short we are obviously attached to all of them and are wondering if this arrangement is even possible.
Info: They are almost 5 weeks old, all different breeds, and I’ve spent hours with them everyday because I want them to get used to being loved on. Only 1 of the boys likes to be handled.

What do y’all think? 3 boys and 1 girl, is it possible??

Yeah like they’d be fighting over who gets to protect her?
No, not protect, they'll all want to mate her. It won't be pretty.

Well, not necessarily male chickens..unless you're OK with them being eaten. Many other people are in your same situation (I had a broody hatch 4 this spring with same ratio) so the market is flooded with extra cockerels. All mine go into the freezer.

Getting more females won't necessarily solve the problem either.
The 'rooster' to hen ratio of 1:10 that is often cited is primarily for fertility efficiency in commercial breeding facilities.
It doesn't mean that if a cockbird has 10 hens that he won't abuse or over mate them.
Many breeders keep pairs, trios, quads, etc.
It all depends on the temperaments of the cock and hens and sometimes housing provided.
Backyard flocks can achieve good fertility with a larger ratio.

No.
