THREE roos, ONE pullet :(

No, not protect, they'll all want to mate her. It won't be pretty.

Well, not necessarily male chickens..unless you're OK with them being eaten. Many other people are in your same situation (I had a broody hatch 4 this spring with same ratio) so the market is flooded with extra cockerels. All mine go into the freezer.

Getting more females won't necessarily solve the problem either.
The 'rooster' to hen ratio of 1:10 that is often cited is primarily for fertility efficiency in commercial breeding facilities.
It doesn't mean that if a cockbird has 10 hens that he won't abuse or over mate them.
Many breeders keep pairs, trios, quads, etc.
It all depends on the temperaments of the cock and hens and sometimes housing provided.
Backyard flocks can achieve good fertility with a larger ratio.
Great information! Thank you so much for the education. :D

Today I took my extra cockerel to a local poultry swap....there must have been 1000 birds there, half of them roosters...but I sold mine in half an hour. Maybe you have a swap near you?

You don’t need that exact number.Maybe try getting fifteen more,if you noticed lots of over breeding downsize or make a pen for an extra roo.First one looks most like. A pullet. The buff colored pen at the end needs a minute,I’m unsure, the black one may be male but I would definitely wait a few weeks.Red/brown one is probably a cockerel.
Yes, I forgot to mention I’m not doing anything until it’s 100% for sure.
