Three Week Old Chicks Indoors?

These are my current chicks with their little roost.

They are very healthy chicks and I am weaning them off of heat. I have a run where they are isolated inside the larger run but did not want to put them in with the 4 older girls until they are a bit older and a bit larger. I 'read' that they should be close to the big girls size before they are put together. This is my first time mixing young ones in with the older ones.

Might want to consider early integration, which takes advantage of the fact that chicks are so much smaller and quicker than adults, through use of chick only accessible hiding places. Something to consider, if you have the space and clutter to pull it off.

I agree with this method. I wait until they are close in size. Good luck and have fun...
