Three weeks old and already got a red comb… sus?

Hey guys, just playing a bit here I guess but yeah, got a few three-week old (EDIT-crossbreed) buff orpingtons. One feathered up really quick compared to the other two, and now it has a comb twice the size and much more red/pink than it’s broodmates. I’ve got some (low quality) pics for you to see

Agree. Breed difference could account for early larger comb but that one does look suspicious. Where did you get your chicks?

Not buff orpingtons, at least not purebloods, but yep I'd say boy if you are noticing pinker, larger, more defined comb. Neck feathers will be shinier in the sun than females.

Sorry guys I shouldve said they are crossbreeds. I think one parent is buff Orpington, the dad is a buff orp cross. Thanks xx

Eggs were given to me lol. People give me eggs all the time so I decided to incubate some. Never had chickies of my own so it’s been quite an experience! (I’m usually the one looking after other people’s chickens). Yeah they are crossbreeds. I‘ll have to check again but I thiiink they are ¾ buff Orpington. Dad is a hybrid of some sort.
