I'm starting to move away from Bantams. Pretty much will only stick to OEGBs, & Bantam silkies as the Bantams, but will eventually breed out the bantam gene, & have only large, & Giant silkies.

We have kicked around two different ideas… breed our green/blue Eggers gown to bantam size… or breed up to Standard Size… you know both would be an experiment. But again depends on how chicks we are raising develop… light EEs are notorious for not being properly sexed… and I let the kids help pick them out for me… they wanted the light ones. So I am suspiciously watching them… then we have two straight run groups of chicks eventually showing up, and hatching eggs… so who knows what that will result in, all boys, all girls, a mix?

Not sure but we have 2 bantam D’Uccles… so might try down, but really depends on how the EEs mature. They all have beards and muffs I think. So that is good… little D’Uccle looking EEs would be cool.

Some of the F2s, & F1s won't be Barred, but that's fine for the beginning.

Selecting only the Barred birds for F3s, is what will follow next. So, this will include breeding Barred offspring to solid, or barred offspring.

At the beginning I'll also be only selecting hens that lay Green eggs.

No actually I want a high squirrel tail, the EEs I have carry this trait besides the Blue egg gene.
