Another thing that's frustrating, is now bird flu made it to Michigan. Identified in Kalamazoo. So, probably gonna have to put my birds on lockdown if it gets closer to my area. But will probably take measures early on.

Broody hens are priceless. I'll never go back to incubators. Build a nice place for them with a few stalls and they love the work

Keep healthy birds. Healthy strong birds can overcome most anything. No vaccines or medication necessary. I haven't or will ever vaccinate for anything. Vaccinations make weak birds. Them multiply that generation after generation and you're setting them up for disaster. Anyway have a good day and a great hatch good luck

I don't vaccinate my birds. Chicken vaccines are leaky, & make carriers/spreaders, so yeah.

Speaking about broodies. I'm hoping to have at least one group of broody raised chicks this year. Just hoping a hen has good timing.
