Got another egg from the same pullet. It was smaller then a mature hens egg, but weighed in as extra large. It's also larger then her first. That was a fast size increase.

Here's her eggs.

My Pullets the increases have been gradual in size… but slowly the eggs are getting larger. What is really blowing my mind is the weight differences I am monitoring between the different chicks even from the same breed.

Eggs from my pullets usually gradually increase in size to over time. This was a dramatic jump.

Yeah, how much of a weight difference between chicks?

I had one pullet suddenly lay huge eggs, but they turned out to be double yolk eggs each time. That seems to have stopped but I am watching this as I do not want to breed her if she continues to lay double yolks more that single yolk eggs. Though I am going to breed for bird size, egg size, and egg colour are also on my list… as we eat eggs a lot.

Speaking about double yolkers. I got a gigantic egg from the bantam coop today. It has two huge yolks in it. I have no idea who laid that thing.

Weather is looking great. Soon I can butcher some birds, & set up my breeding area, & get started. But before I officially start, I have a variety of chicks to hatch for some friend.
