Throw out first eggs???

Why in the world would you throw out your first egg? Savor it!

Cook the bacon crack the eggs and scramble them it's time to enjoy the good stuff. Eat away,eat away, they are yummy in the tummy. I ate my first one and the second ,third and they scrambled just as good as any other one.

I would definitely toss them!!!!! TOSS TOSS TOSS !!!!!!!!!!!My first ones I tossed onto the counter,then tossed them into a pan,then tossed onto a plate and then tossed into my mouth. So just toss your eggs this way for proper disposal. The very first egg I got, the shell is in a mini flower pot on the window sill in front of the sink. Couldn't even bear the tossing of the shell, nevermind the whole egg.

I think the whole thought process is that when they first start laying is that if they are on medicated feed that it will also be contained in the egg. If you go by that you probably shouldn't be buying milk, meat, cheese or anything from the store because who knows what the heck in those.

I would wager the representative from the extension office is assuming the pullets are on medicated grower/developer of some sort for the first egg or two.

Would be mad to throw out your first eggs! They may be small, but they're as good for you as any other.

I took the first two eggs my girls laid and I put a little hole in each end and blew out the insides.
Now, I have the shells sitting on a few of their first feathers in my china cabinet as a memento.....I know, a little crazy but it looks cute and I have the very first efforts from my little girls!

I had this same question when my hens first started laying! Everyone said to eat it, so we did! Delicious!! ) We saved the shell of the first one, too. I think I'm going to get a shadow box and put it in there so nothing happens to it! We are awfully proud chicken parents! ;o)
