Thrown into caring for chickens :)

I'm Christina and I manage a local petting zoo. I have 13 years experience as a vet tech but chickens is new to me. I became manager of the petting zoo 3 months ago and I'm still trying to learn chicken stuff. I think there is around 50 chickens and I can't even begin to tell you the breeds. I'm hoping I can use this app to learn more about raising chickens and the breeds we have. I do have a friend that raises chickens and she has been helpful when I have had questions. She actually came a couple days ago and candled some eggs for me and we have baby chicks! When I noticed the hen staying on the eggs, I decided to leave them, which was on June 19th. So we should have babies soon. I'm looking forward to using this app to learn more about chickens!

Make sure your broody hen takes time out to eat and drink and poo. Some are so dedicated they refuse to leave the nest even for very short periods. You may have to put her out do take care of her needs, at least a couple times a day. Sending good hatching vibes your way

I do see her leave the nest every now and then. I actually seen another hen on her nest before so I figured she was just egg sitting
