Thursday is the day...We Have a Winner!

It has a little fan in it, so I assume it isn't still air.

Friday night--still nothing!

One of our little critters has poked a hole, and was really talking for a while. He seems to have gone to sleep now. Mrs. Badger is glued to the bator, and she thinks she sees another one moving...but she acknowledges that this might be wishful thinking...

OK, I'm getting obsessive now, but we just have had them laying flat on the floor of the bator since I took them off the turner. Should we still have them big-end-up somehow? Just want to give the little guys the best chance.

Well, McNugget #1 burst into the world around 5:15 this morning and immediately started running at full tilt, crashing into things, then *boom* going to sleep. I know we aren't supposed to move them into the brooder until they're dry, but at one point this little dude somehow managed to get himself under the wire mesh in the bottom of the bator and into the humitidy trough under there, spashing around peeping loudly, so I took him out and put him in the brooder, where he is now running around (safely) crashing into things. Mrs. Badger suggests it must be a boy.

McNugget #2 is currently working pretty hard at freeing itself. I can see the shell move as it chips away. Fun to watch--wish I could help. I have this dremmel tool that would take that shell right off, you know.

No signs of life from the others, but we're hopeful.

Keep crossin' those fingers or whatever you're doin'!
