we got our day old babies oct 3, any guess when we might see the first egg? the suspense is killing us but i think it might still be a while. barred rocks, buff orpington, ameraucanas and a wyandotte...lovely girls, they are!

also any tips for making them comfortable and encouraging them to lay. this is our first time with chickens.

I'm gonna say 22 - 26 weeks on the bigger girls BO, Wyandotte and BR.

That is correct around 6 months old.

And when it gets close to laying time you can put golf balls or fake eggs in the boxes to help them along.
