Ticket Question! Will my license be pulled?

Quote:
I forgot about that, which explains the amount of the fine, but I don't think they would pull your license, still. I think, also they take in consideration what the posted speed limit is, too. It would be considered reckless if you were going 45 in a 25, but probably not for 85 in a 65, but don't quote me on that.

I pleaded not guilty once on $200 + something ticket..
I didnt need a lawyer... just went before the judge..told my story...
they lowered it to like $70 something bucks..
Worked for me..

Hmmm. Pleading not guilty is saying you weren't speeding: that you have been accused of something you didn't do. Were you speeding? If so, you are guilty. If you plead not guilty and you were speeding, then you are lying.

I suppose it's up to you. If you actually were speeding, do you have integrity to suck it up, tell the truth, and take the punishment the law dishes out, or are you going to lie, say you didn't do it (no judge, I wasn't doing 85 in a 65...I'm not guilty), maybe get out of the fine, and know for the rest of your life you lied in a court of law?

Makes no difference to me either way. Just make sure you can live with your decision either way.

I got a ticket for doing 72 in a 45. Total load of donkey poop ticket. I tried to fight it and lost..............so went to traffic school to avoid the points.

If you plead Not Guilty you go before a judge and there's stuff.

If you plead Guilty you pay the fines, get tagged, etc.

If you plead No Contest (donno if possible on this type of infraction/your area) then you pay and go on probation for X and so long as you have no other violations in that time then it doesn't go on your record.

Leastways I've seen that happen down here.

Everyone should have a basic knowledge of their state traffic laws.
I have no ideal of New Hampshire traffic court.

Ohio, where I live...first offense, 4 point ticket, adult...you won't lose
your license. Unless it changed through the years it used to be that a
minor would lose their license for almost any offense. Legenth of time
depended upon the reason.

As a young man many years ago, I can't say I was overly fond of that
system. As an adult I understand.

Part of being the adult...If you feel that you received the ticket fairly:
Well, pay up. If you knew the speed limit, and you willingly chose to
exceed the speed limit, poor choices come with a cost.

Go to court, tell judge it was your first offence, sincerely appologize, tell him/ her that you are aware that you broke the law, but consider this a true lesson learned. ask judge to throw it out. I fought a ticket once, went to court officer read statement that he clocked my speed on radar as he was behind my vehicle. I spoke up and said actually he walked out in the street and pulled me over. He goofed on his statement. Judge threw it out because statement was not acurrate. I got lucky on that one. But I also showed up to court in a suit and tie. That makes adifference too to a judge. If you can't afford ticket let judge know that as well. You never know unless you fight it.
