Ticks? What would you call this? Any treatments?

They could also possibly be a type of "bedbug" which actually takes blood. They're flat and round about that size.

In any case, the thing to do is kill them and treat all the premises. You will also want to rebuild the chickens' blood as the become anemic very quickly.

You can use Sevin dust beneath the bedding if you wish as part of the following total treatment. Pull the bedding aside, put sevin 5% down (not the stronger), and put the bedding back on top. (sevin under bedding, poultry dust on everything else).

Better treatment - and safer - is to use "poultry dust" (permethrin) that is packaged literally as poultry dust. Use that on the birds, in the bedding (sprinkle on - stir in), under the bedding as described above. Use on all the wood in your coop. Some people mix with water and paint on the wood like a white-wash - so it gets in the cracks of the wood where often parasites hang out when not feeding.

Use liberally on the bird, especially at the vent, behind the neck. Use olive oil and garlic on the combs/wattles, etc. If you worm regularly, you can use ivermectin to quick-kill the bugs. You can also use Adams spray on dogs and the chickens. Again be very careful to get by the vent (cover the vent with one gloved finger, please - alcohol stings) area, the back of the neck, etc. But honestly poultry dust gets more thoroughly on the bird.

Retreat in five to seven days and again in another five to seven days on dogs and the birds.

Build their blood back up by giving them a treat first meal in the day: boiled mashed egg yolks, yogurt, wetted crumbles (just til you can get them to stick together in your hand). You can additionally give baby vitamins or chicken vitamins/electrolytes for a week. You must rebuild their blood.

Treating in this manner will treat ALL parasites - ticks or otherwise. Hope this helps!

Oh I so agree with all of this! Well except the coop smelling like a pizzaria as I've never been there.
