Ticks

I wish I had a say in my brothers dogs but I don't it just makes me so sad because I had raised them since they were babies and 3 hatched here and then to hear that my brothers dogs killed them just makes me so angry.
And they dont punish the dogs at all one of them even went after one of my rabbits but I heard the rabbit screaming and got the dog off before he did any damage .
Oh how I wish I could give them away or something they poop everywhere and it just sits there at least my dogs go in the bamboo where no one steps on it these dogs poop on the cements on the wood deck EVERYWHERE !!

Wait, how can they be allergic to a poodle? That is the most hypo allergenic dogs there is, people that are allergic to dogs can have poodles!!

Like crazyland said I'm all for helping family but there is a limit that I will go to as my poodle is my baby and better not anyone mess with her ( my chickens are bigger than she is ).

This is exactly what I thought. All three of your dogs are non shedding should not cause any harm to allergies if they are kept clean, like you said yours were. As for the ticks, we moved to ND this last spring and I was overwhelmed with all the ticks on my three dogs. I found that if you spray them and their bedding with a few drops of lemon oil in a spray bottle with water it helped a lot. It would not get rid of all of the ticks though so everynight I would use tweezers to pull out the ticks and then stick them to duct tape to make sure they would not escape to bite again. I also sprayed around my house and property with this super potent garlic spray. It smelled terrible but it worked wonders!

My mom said to try feeding them garlic in their food

I went out yesterday to wal mart and bought 2 gallons of pesticide and sprayed it around their dog houses and the dirt hope it works my brothers gone for the weekend so the dogs are inside for now
And that was the same thing I told him that they are hypoallergenic but he still wont believe me .

I know it's painful to think about but if this is a long term arrangement, you might consider finding the dogs another home. They really can't thrive (and could actually die) outside. If it's temporary, could they stay in your room or maybe with a friend for awhile?

They're in my room for now and when the'yre outside it's not like I have them chained up in the sun or anything they can go into the storage room that has cement floors so it's pretty cool in there or in between the house and shed where they have their dog house .My house is surrounded by bamboo and trees so there is plenty of shade for them to be in which is usually where they are .

Walmart pesticides everywhere and an unknown amount of garlic... good way to poison everything in the area.... Garlic actually destroys red blood cells in dogs and cats and too much over time can cause severe anemia or death. While I'm not saying it can't be used it's best to know what you are doing. A monthly preventative from the vet would be best for a dog that has to stay outside all the time in an area heavy with ticks. All that stuff giving you shade is probably also giving the ticks somewhere to live. It would be healthier, safer, and less money than a vet trip from random chemicals to go with a prescription tick med (I wouldn't use advantix if you paid me though). Frontline plus, revolution, or comfortis will work. There are a variety of dog specific sprays available which could be used by themselves or even better along with a monthly flea/tick med. I use mostly sentry products. Their Natural Defense spray is cinnamon, mint, lemongrass oil, and other things I don't remember and lasts a little while. I put some on the door way of the bantam coop early this year and it kept the buffalo gnats from entering for nearly a week. It's not waterproof though and wears off critters faster than objects. They also have a chemical based spray which I have around but haven't had much reason to use since the Natural Defense does a good job. I've actually only used the chemical spray on some chickens after one started having seizures from all the buffalo gnat bites. Even those type of chemicals would be safer than pesticides. Particularly cheap pesticides from a store known to sell unsafe chemicals and treatments for use around pets and gardens.

Walmart does sell a bug spray called something like nutrapet. It's actually in the human bug spray section. It's all essential oils like the sentry natural defense and safe for humans or dogs. Works pretty well but isn't water proof so you sweat it off quickly but dogs don't sweat so these types of products work for awhile on them. That is the only thing I've found at walmart that I would use around pets and I still prefer getting something better quality over that if possible.

Here's my feelings on the matter. Is it YOUR house, or your brothers??? You're doing him a favor letting him stay there. You set the rules in YOUR house. If he don't like them, or can't follow them, he finds another place. Just as simple as that. Then you and your pets can be more at ease, and get more gunieas for tick control.
