The Cougar Hunters told me that a cougar has no problem fending off two dogs but three is harder for them.
We've had four cougars walk onto this property, our ACD's and me chased them back into the woods.

what's an ACD?

We have always had good luck with the electric fences. It is pretty inexpensive also. It seems to be the only thing that has ever worked for us. We just got sloppy since we hadn't had any thing get inside our fences for a long time and didn't keep the weeds cut off the wiring which will short it out. Whatever killed my Sebastopols would be back each night if it wasn't for the electric fencing. Once the preditors discover a food supply they will keep coming back for more. We are surrounded and connected to forrest on 3 sides of us.
It is been a rough several months here trying to keep things alive here. Just had a juvenile Sebastopol shipped to me yesterday. Beautiful little show winning and a real pet. Dead this morning. USP service just took too long to ship her and she was too weak from going without food or water that long. I will not have any more juveniles or adults shipped to me. I have had good luck with the Holderreads shipping of adults to me.

This is my Great Pryenees puppy Koda. I just got her last week. I love her. She's doing great with my chickens so far.

I'm determined to train her to be the best dang Livestock Guard dog in the Country.
