We set 15 eggs in a still air LG (yeah I know). They should be due this morning. 2 hatched out late last night, and no signs of any one else peeping or pipping. If the first two already hatched will the others still hatch? Should I float test them? Has anyone else experienced a large gap in hatching times? I am used to dogs, and we don't like huge time lapses.

It's possible that the others will hatch. Don't float test them!!! Have you candled them? If not, there's always the chance that they weren't fertilized. Give them a few more days... Have you moved the other chicks out of the incubator?

Yes, I moved the two others out, they are dry and hatched in the eve last night, I just put them in the brooder a couple of hours ago.

I did candle, but after day 16, couldn't tell heads or tails so to speak. But if I go by day 7 candling, there should be at least 6 more eggs to hatch.

Should they be peeping or rocking the eggs? I have them in an egg carton and the first two hatch out well.

i had four out last night at 6 pm, hatch day is today, i now have 15 out and more pipping. as you know we have eggs from the same flock. give them until wed before you try floating. my last hatch went on for four days. make that 16 my son just said another one just came out. give them time, good luck..........

I have an LG forced air that I just hatched 24 out of 36 Buckeye eggs and should have had at least one more if I had not shut down the incubator after the third full day of hatching. I broke open the remaining eggs thinking no more would hatch and found a full term chick that was still alive in the egg but was damaged when I cracked it open. This was my second hatch in this incubator and I thought the forced air model would give a more even hatch but apparently there are still some cold spots that lengthen the incubation time. Live and learn.
Anyway, the hatches in these LG's will go a few days.
