Time-lapse Thread Showing Key Steps in Hen-hatching

Cuckoldry can involve a female slipping her offspring into care of another regardless of who the sire is. Purist example like you see with cowbirds and old world cuckoos placing eggs into nest of another species. In setting relevant here a female of the same harem is slipping her eggs into nest / care of another female. It then a form of intraspecific nest parasitism. Younger females really prone to it because they can produce more eggs and may not be be as adept at securing a quality nest site.

Nest parasitism is a particular type of cuckholdry. Popular use of the term "cuckholdry" centers more on male side apparently. My usage is consistent with what zoologist use.

There are two hens in the setup now, hence the placement of two nest a little over a two weeks ago.

Understand now, thanks...
...sometimes you forget your audience here is not fluent in science/biology/zoology,
tho I like to learn your vocabulary and truly enjoy your observations and 'experiments'.
