I'm in a rush so background: This morning a snake got one of our chicks, the other chick + mother were okay, we killed the snake.
From the chaos of the snake attack the food and water were spilled out, empty, and we don't know for how long- could have been hours and hours.
It's a hot day, mother and chick were in sun, no idea how long without water, chick was dirt bathing, then chick sort of just keeled over, wasn't moving- I brought it inside, it was still alive and breathing but eyes closed not moving. Been trying to give it water with electrolites, it tries drinking a little, but is breathing slowly and not moving.
Is this heat stroke, dehydration, or something else? I know the snake didn't bite the chick, and in any case it was a non-venomous corn snake.
