My hen hatched 5 of 8 eggs. This morning when I checked on her and the babies, she had ripped the nest apart. She is still sitting on the eggs but she has them on the patch with no straw. It is two days since the last baby hatched out, so is it time to remove the unhatched eggs? Is that her way of saying they aren't viable?
Also, does the mama hen eat the egg shells after the chick hatches? I feel stupid asking, but, I don't find any shells in her pen and there is just no where else for the shells to go.
