Timid Gander

Thanks Celtic Oaks. I have had Priority Mail take 8 months to get delivered, sadly the USPS is not very good any more. I'm guessing they are much more attentive to live animals though. I'm glad to know they arrive so quickly and it's good to know that Delta Dash is still in business, that's a good service. How much do you sell a Buff or Lilac gander for?

This morning I caught my gander trying to mate with a Runner hen.....all those geese and he's going for a duck, I hope he gets it sorted out by Spring. I do have a goose who loves my 2 drakes though but that can't cause any harm like the reverse situation can.

ROFLMAO at the idea of the gander and a runner duck.

Express mail is trackable and yes live birds are watched pretty darn closely in transit.

We have 1 gander left this year, he is the last from Peaches (Lilac Goose and McGraw grey split buff gander) $60 plus shipping for him.

Just shipped 5 birds today, 4 more to ship out and this gander when he sells.

Can you ship an adult-sized gander all te way to Colorado without him being harmed? it sounds like he's awfully big to be able to survive the USPS. I have geese who got extremely stressed out just being driven 2 1/2 hours to come here and it took them quite a while to recover.

Sasa just shipped 5 juveniles this week. All arrived A-OK. Driving can be very stressful since most dont think to place the birds in an enclosed shipping box, or kennel that has been covered to make it dark and quiet inside.

this boy is from 2012. so is a juvenile, not an adult

Kanga he is a sebastopol, the last gander from Peaches (Lilac goose and McGraw grey gander)

I just shipped two sebbie ganders off from MO to Mass and they arrived safely. So do not be afraid to have geese shipped to you. Have also shiped to Mich and WA all arrived safe and sound. This is within the last month. This is a good time of year to ship because the wether is cooler and easier on the geese....

Celtic Farms, he sounds gorgeous, can you post a photo?
When you ship a larger bird as opposed to goslings do you have a way to provide food and water? Maybe a bunch of lettuce as a duch breeder I spoke with does?

Celtic Oaks Farm, your gander sounds like the perfect age to add to a flock, how much is shipping? Is he curly?, what color is he? post a pic! :)
