Tin pie plates?

Last night, something got the little pullet I had nursed back to health a few months ago. Just.. left her there dead. My dad thinks it was a mink, which will suck the blood and leave it's victim there. My mom suggested tin pie plates, like people put up to keep deer from a garden, or birds out of an apple tree. Think it might work?

I am sorry about your Talula Belle!

No, pie plates won't work. Most predators hunt at night and won't see them. You need to reinforce your coop/pen. Finding the entrances and blocking them is your only sure fire deterrant other than trapping and disposal.
