I'm thinking about doing a corrugated tin roof -- they sell the stuff in 8 ft sheets, just right for my roof. But the plastic stuff and the ondura/asphalt stuff all has foam inserts to make screwing the stuff down easier (less likely to dent the roofing) and keep wasps from building nests in the roof. But the corrugated tin stuff doesn't come with an equivelent foam insert. The kind they do have for sale (for the plastic and ondura) doesn't fit. So what's up with that? Anybody come across this problem and have a solution?

Thanks!

I think you can get it if you look at a store that does metal sales in corrugated walls and roofing for metal buildings. My pole barns and coops are open at the part, I just call it ventilation.

i have that and i just too the wood things that go with the roof and it works great!
i just put liquid nail and some screws to hold it. but i lift off the top of mine so i just put it on the very edge so i wont cut myself. i but it would seal it but you could also use the nails with the tar washer thing lt will melt on to the roof the first hot day.(many to come)

At the bottom and top of the sheets where they attach, but have openings, you can use spray foam that comes in a spray can to seal them. Then coat the spray foam ,as it will deteriate in the sun.

The coating is something like Drylock paint for water proofing basement walls

You can trim up the foam by using something like a steak knife.

The tin sheet are usually used to make shelters for various animals, pigs, cows, ect, and the openings are used for ventilation because the tin will become hot in the sun. The other types of sheets are used in things like garden sheds, or green houses that need sealed. so they make the seals for you.
