Floggy juveniles make for bad roosters. Please do not let him draw blood. That is my red line for roosters. If you raise roosters around a mature flock of matrons it will all get easy. I have three cockerels in my latest batch but they have a long way to go to become the alpha's in the bunch. They are not people centric.

mine are pets too, and I dont eat them or cull a healthy bird, but I'd never want to offend someone who did keep them to eat!

He isn't a bad rooster. He is just a rooster. And he is protecting his flock, so all in all he is a good rooster. But too good at his roostering job to fit with human expectations.

Sometimes we just have to make difficult decisions.
