we have a weeping cherry tree in our flower bed and a pair of cardinals liked it so they built a nest.
we have watched the eggs hatch
and have seen and heard the tiny birds chirping and such.
well.....much to our horror we came home and found all four babys on the ground and the nest all but destroyed!
so we called a local rescue called Back to the Wild and they told us to use a butter dish, put holes in the bottom for drainage then ziptie it to the tree. we put the nest pieces back in the butter dish and GENTLY (which is hard for a bull in a china shop like me) place babies in nest. we came inside and peered out the window
and in minutes mom and dad found them and was feeding them!
we took pics so once i get that figured out i will post
