Tiny Broody Coop

I just checked and the one chick still has not hatched. The shell is more than half way off and the broody hen it's under had it upside down with the chicks exposed side in the shavings. I still see blood vessels covering the chick and its breathing okay and peeping once in a while. I don't know if it has absorbed its yolk or not. I put it back under the broody and don't want to mess with it. I don't know what else to do at this point. Any help is much appreciated.

At least the hen is back on the nest and remaining eggs.
If you see large/active veins, leave it be.

The last chick didn't make it. It wasn't ready to hatch and had not absorbed the yolk. Ugh. Chicken keeping is hard some days. So heartbroken about our three lost chicks. This hatch was a tough one. We've never lost any chicks during a hatch before. We are still thankful for 4 healthy chicks. Our plan is to collect some Serama eggs for Millie to hatch before winter after our Serama hens start laying again. They are all broody right now and I can't seem to break them of it. I will get some pictures of the 4 chicks this evening.

Awesome thread! Following your adventure. Great brooder cage. I’d love to see a pull back of your coop whenever you get a minute. My husband has fell in love with chickens and wants more which will mean a bigger coop or huge run! :hmm
We are still doing renovations on our coop, but we are almost done. We have two more walls to insulate and put up the white paneling. We are also going to add trim where the panels meet and around the windows. After that we are building a roost bar that extends the length of the back wall and around one corner up to a window with a poop board below it. The last project is wall feeders and water system. I have a picture of the n

est boxes we built, but will have to take more of the coop later tonight.

I just realized I never posted pictures of the babies! Momma took them out for the first time in the yard last night. Two chicks snuck into the run and one got pecked by a hen so next time I'll have to take them out on the opposite side of the coop.
