Tips for temporary coop for integration

Yes, I'm from the Netherlands. Dutch forums are not at all active so I'm here!

Yes, the new girls come from the same breeder so will know each other. I was planning on giving them a part of the run, using hardware cloth. The part they get would be large enough to stretch their legs and run around a bit.

I was looking at the large version of the first crate you posted. Sizes seem to be the same here. Would that do?

@Ridgerunner has been at this decades, while I’ve had chickens for months! That’s the voice of experience there.

Here is a cage that is 30” x 19” (21” high) - very similar to what Ridgerunner suggested. The pullets here are. 9-week-old Speckled Sussex and 7-week-old Easter Egger:

Since it will just be their sleeping area, yes, the size large that you were looking at would probably be fine.

If you bought something similar, it could also serve as an infirmary, a broody cage, or a “time-out” temporary jail if you had to separate one.
