tiny chick with cord still attached (updated)

Wouldn't you know it. She's a HE, and a beautiful one at that. He got a new name as he started to look more and more rooish. Cocoa Bean is a beautiful rich redish chocolate and his greens and blues are coming in nicely. The big girls kick the snot out of him when he tries to get fresh, so he should turn out to be a pretty good roo. He and his flock mates are just begining to be intergrated with the other birds in their coop, so now I get to see how well he is doing with the big girls. There are 3 other roos in that coop, but more than enough girls to go around. That is if the older roos weren't trying to get themselves some young things. If they start having problems I will get rid of the offenders. So far Gabriel (Dominique) and Napolean (Silver Spangled Hamburg) don't seem to have any problems with the newcombers, but really they have been around them since day one when they were put into the baby pen inside the coop. I'm hoping that Cocoa stays a nice and gentle roo as it would be a shame to have to eat him. He's just so pretty and I did stay up that first night getting him to drink sugar water.
