Tiny lash egg?

Always something new with these girls. My 5.5 yo Wyandotte passes small white masses in her stool a few times a week. The first time I noticed was back in April when we had her isolated in a crate because she'd sprained her leg. The mass is about 0.5" and uniform in color throughout. Is this a lash egg? She hasn't laid an egg since February, which is fine by me because her eggs this year had been thin shelled despite the oyster shell I offered. Her comb and wattle are still bright red and she still squats for me when I go to pick her up. Are these just weird little eggs signaling the end of her lay cycle? Otherwise she is a very active, social hen.

It does look like a possible lash egg. Can you cut it in half and post another picture? Lash eggs are a product of salpingitis or inflammation of the oviduct.

I cut it open, but the inside looked exactly like the outside. It is rubbery and reminds me of the texture of the outside of a hard-boiled egg.

Hi, I know this was a while ago, but did you ever get an answer to what was going on with your Wyandotte? I have a 3.5yo Plymouth Rock going through the same thing right now. There were 2 other masses that looked like this (a little bigger though, maybe the size of a pea) one about 3 weeks ago now and another this past Monday. Same thing when I cut it open, it’s uniform throughout, like a hard boiled egg.
I’m sorry to dig up the past for you, but I’m desperate here!
Thank you 🙏🏻

In your photo, it looks like Lash Material.
If she were mine, I'd consider giving Amoxicillin or Baytril.

Thank you SO much for your input. Luckily I was able to order some Baytril a moment ago. Shipping says 2 business days. I hope it's not too late for my Blanche. Would you happen to know when I should start seeing improvements if there are any to be made? I want to try and save her if I can obviously, but if her death is imminent then I do not want her to suffer even further. If you're not sure or if you're not comfortable answering the question then I completely understand.

Is she acting sick?

With a condition like Salpingitis, it can be hard to give concrete answers. Sometimes a hen that is treated with antibiotics can go on to live a long life and even produce normal eggs. Others succumb to the condition. There are too many factors.

She is. Lethargic, dull, diarrhea, she did have doughy crop at first, but eating or drinking as much. However she seems to be doing a little better. Still lethargic and dull, but she has been eating and drinking. I got her chick starter feed and hydro-hen the other day and she’s loving that. I started mixing some thyme and oregano in her feed because I read that it has antibiotic properties. Even if that’s total BS at least it won’t hurt her while I wait for the Baytril. Today I noticed she had some better looking poops on her pad, though still not great. I did dose her with Valbazen the other day because I was so desperate. I’ve also been giving her monistat because of the doughy crop she had. Not sure what if any of this stuff is helping, but she seems to be improving so far and that’s the main thing.

I'm sorry she's not doing well.

I hope you are able to get the Baytril soon to see if that makes a difference.

I'd continue doing what you have been since you are seeing a little improvement.
