My hen has advanced bumblefoot and when I soaked her feet this morning, she was panting and I noticed her tongue turning black. I think it's a separate issue from the bumblefoot, but I'm not finding much info on this. Just seeing that she might have a niacin deficiency. I've been giving her egg yolk with poultry cell and chicken liver as treats. I'm not finding any niacin for chickens. Any one have any experience with this?

I forgot to add that she's also molting.

What you've given her, especially the Poultry Cell, should be sufficient B3 (niacin). I'd give that to her every other day for a couple of weeks and see how she does.

What feed is she on, as niacin deficiencies in chickens is far rarer than it is with ducks.
