tips and secrets of the GQF 1502 sportsman...

Pics
Just purchased a new 1502 unit have it warmed up and steady for 24 hrs noe and trays are loaded question is; are there any reccomended ways to load chicken quail and duck eggs? Would any breed do better/worse on the top rack vs middle vs bottom rack?

HELP!!! 1502 Cabinet GQF incubator still running but with practically no sound. For a couple days it's become quieter and quieter and now practically no sound at all. Small fans are still running, heating ok and shelves turning but much less air moving inside. Thinking maybe the fan motor has gone out to the larger fan at the very back. I have peafowl and pheasant eggs in it. Can they survive this? Have some rare bird eggs coming I need to incubate in a couple days. What should I do? I'll call GQF in the morning. Much thanks for any help I can get.

We are considering getting one or two of this model cabinet incubator. Currently we are doing quail and ducks. What do you guys like or dislike about this model? Does it draw on your electricity? Any other tips I should know?

I have an older 1202 that I bought many years ago. When I bought it, it had a wafer thermostat which several years ago we switched over to an electronic thermostat. The Electronic thermostat keeps the temperature more steady. I have incubated thousands of Chicken and Pheasant eggs in it but don't hatch in it. I use my styrofoam incubators as hatchers. I have posted some pictures on this thread. It works great. The only modification I have done besides changing the thermostat is put on a clear poly door because I like to see the eggs. I used the wafer thermostat from the cabinet in a homemade styrofoam cooler I made into an incubator/hatcher. I put 2 15 watt bulbs in for heat and an AC fan to circulate the air and heat. I put 2 bulbs because I originally had one in it and once it burnt out so now with 2 bulbs not as likely that both will burn out at once. I use it mostly to hatch in. I mark my eggs and this way I can keep them separate when hatching.

My cabinet used to fluctuate more when it had the wafer thermostat, but since we replaced it with the electronic thermostat I have had very little fluctuation. Since your is relatively new, the incubator most likely has either a digital or electronic thermostat. Right now mine is in the garage full of eggs but since we are having chilly nights, I covered it with some blankets to help hold the heat in so hopefully the temperature will stay steadier. So far it seems to be working.

I think it might be the weather stripping on the door. When I first got it the door was difficult to close, now it closes easily. Thinking heat might be escaping through. Mine is electronic not wafer.

Anyone else find the turner motor on their GQF Sportsman to be quite loud? I bought my 1502 new a year ago and am not sure it's supposed to be so loud. Any thoughts?
