tips and secrets of the GQF 1502 sportsman...

I had mine in the guest apartment. I have since moved it into the garage. I have it wrapped in blankets except the back where the vents are. So far the humidity and temperature are holding steady. Recently hatched out some chicks and more due to hatch on Wednesday.

That's a good idea. Does it hold its heat and humidity well outside? Even with cold/hot temps and crazy winds?

Mine does fine in 50 degree temps. Don't keep it outside in the elements other than in an uninsulated shed so don't know about how it does in wind.

My hubby and I are thinking of building a shed/small barn to keep it in but it does get really cold and really hot here. After all it is Utah!

Currently my cabinet is in the garage but I am planning on getting a shed or type of out building to put it in along with the hatchers and brooders. My hatchers and brooders are currently in the chick coop. I'll have to move them soon so I can move in the chicks.

If you put it in the garage or shed, I would cover the vents with screen so bugs or flies do not wonder in there. Just my opinion.

I close the vents when I'm not incubating otherwise I leave them open/closed enough to regulate the humidity.

I would love to have a shed where everything in there.
