Just put in the order for my new Digital Sportsman on GQF's website! I ordered directly from the manufacturer because I figured it would be a tad quicker. I am beyond stoked! Can't wait to get that bad boy up and running. This setting and hatching in this tiny little Genesis is for the birds! Will be so happy to have a Sportsman again!!

I think a 270 capacity is plenty enough for us for now. I will set and hatch weekly, set in the Sportsman, hatch in my Genesis. May have to modify my Genesis to make separate sections to keep different breeds separate that look similar. Very excited!Do not get overly excited......I only have 76 holes open in my second one, I just got last week...I think I need another.

I am in nursing school and work full time so 270 will be more than enough to keep up with for now. After I get out of school I can always get another if need be. We don't hatch chicks to sell right now, only for our own purposes/brood stock. Maybe later when I'm cranking out more than I can use I will sell a few. lolYou would think 270 eggs would be enough, wouldn't you?
I cannot figure out why it was not, but I needed more!

I had two of the older sportsman. I kept one but sold the other. I didn't really need a second one and did get carried away hatching. My problem is I want to keep all of the chicks and watch them grow. I can fit 324 eggs in my old sportsman. The only thing we did to it was, originally it had a wafer thermostat, several years ago we replaced it with an electronic thermostat. We have an apartment for company to stay in and I have been using it as a hatchery but we had company so I had to move everything to the garage but it has been working out ok.
Hubby agreed to help me build new coops. We are getting old and not planting like we used to and are thinking of selling a couple of the tractors and most of the implements. We are keeping one tractor that has the front-end loader on it.
