Tips for growing cucumbers? 🌱

Oh, good to know! I think we usually watered them in the afternoon, so that might not have been very good for them.
In terms of how much to water them, how would you compare them to watering tomato plants? Should they have more water, or a similar amount?
When I had tomatoes in pots they took allot of water... But this is worth mentioning if you Have a walnut tree in your yard it gives off juglone that prevent a bunch of veggies from growing that why I had to plant in pots which could be the reasoning your cukes didnt do well

Well, now that you mention in we do have a walnut tree in our yard. Our garden is some distance away from it, but this is still something to consider. To be safe, we should probably plant the cucumbers on the opposite side of the garden bed from the tree. Thank you for sharing!

I read plants should be planted 50-60 ft away from them.

What I found with the squash was there were plenty of male flowers, but very few female. It was very hot that season, so I think that's why. Unfortunately, there isn't anything you can do to make a plant put out female flowers (that I know of). When the temps cooled off a bit, more female flowers came out, but by then it was too late in the season. Squash take a long time to form. Cucumbers don't take as long.
