Tips for keeping Chickens out of neighbors yard?

Mutual respect means keeping your things on your property, and your neighbor keeping their things on theirs'. The cat food in the garage may be an attractive nuisance to your little dinosaurs, but its the neighbor's cat food, in the neighbor's garage, on the neighbor's land. You and your birds have no right to it - and if you feel your bird's five acres is inadequate, the solution is to buy more land, not take the use of your neighbors!

Put up the fence/netting. or wing clip. or both.
I completely agree with this, I am not insinuating I think my chickens should be allowed to browse on their land or enter their garage unwelcomed. I'm simply saying that they indicated previously they enjoyed having them over and were purposely feeding them cat treats. Now that this has become a nuisance obviously it is more difficult because they have learned to go over there and be rewarded by food and treats that had actually been offered by said neighbors. We now are left trying to un-do what was initiated by the neighbors themselves.

Ha!! Serves them right then!

Seriously, build a big run to keep them safe and your neighbors happy.
Too much cat food isn't good for chickens-that's why it's called cat food. I give my chickens a little fish flavored cat food once in a while as a treat!

Yes, life is all about respect!

Maybe clip their wings?
Didn't work for mine. They can still fly.
Our girls started wandering farther and I was afraid they would be too near the road, and we'd seen coyotes, and heard owls, and we also have hawks and eagles. We chose to cover their huge run with aviary netting, and thus we feel more secure for them and my peace of mind. They adapted just fine. I also have moveable panels that I can rotate on the grass, or even put in the garden as a chicken tractor. Covered with netting as well. Safe roaming for the girls.

It depends on the neighbours if you have to fence the chickens in. I don’t , and never had any problems with the neighbours about it. We discussed it, : 2 of the neighbours even like it to see the chickens in their garden.

But now these neighbours made it problematic. :he. So you need a good solution.

After reading all this I would cover the run with netting (for birds of prey or cats) and tight it with strings. You can properly tension and tie (string) such a net over a simple construction with poles.

After a month or so you can let them free range again for a couple of hours before sunset..
