Tips for Keeping Humidity Levels Consistent

I'll whine here while I hope someone replies to my hatching egg question...
Can the Hovabator people REALLY not design a bottom tray that is easily accessible with a straw? I can appreciate the advice not to open the unit, I just can't follow it because I can't see where the little trough is with the lid on. I have an old unit where the tray covers the entire bottom, but not the new one. The new one has these tiny slots in the middle only.
Have they not figured out where the cord on the egg turners are? They had to guess where to put the hole for the cord to leave the unit, so they went for the middle...? Again, my old one has the hole in the corner, right there where the cord is, but they forgot.
OK, and this one would blow their little Hova-minds... How about a hand-cranked egg turner? An egg holding tray with a wedge that slides from one end to the other on the bottom, raising one end a half inch or so. Slide it back and forth twice a day, turn 40 eggs at once. WHOOOAAA!! Too high tech, I know... (Yes, I have made a version of my own out of egg cartons.)
Sorry, a little sarcasm fit there. I just keep thinking "This is the best they can come up with, after all these years?" every time I find features on my new one that are not as nice as my old one. It is like they aren't trying!
