Hi there-
I picked up my first ever batch of chicks this morning. They are two day old and all seem alert and healthy.
I really want "nice" chickens-I have heard horror stories about chickens chasing and pecking kids and I am going to try everything in my power to not have this issue, as I have two little girls.
So my question is-how do you socialize them to be used to being handled? Is it too late for me since they weren't hatched here? I took my oldest daughter and she pet a few of them while I had them in my hand, but I don't want to handle them too much today since this is their first day here.
So if you have any suggestions for me please...thank you in advance!!!
PS-the breeds I have are 2 speckled sussex, 3 columbian wyandotte, and 1 white wyandotte all 2 days old
