Tips on PIcs of candling

So my eggs are developing great. I want to take some pictures of my candled eggs to show the classroom. I have a decent camera but am having a hard time figuring out what the best setting are for getting good pictures. Anyone have advice on how they got good pictures in the past?

I have a hard time getting good pictures with my high performance Canon.. I use my iphone for pictures, as it focuses better..

wow, I would've never thought to try that. I don't have an iPhone but I have and HTC Inspire, my boyfriend has the new Windows phone that has a Carl Zeiss lense that might be my best bet.

I used my camera, messed with the ISO and shutter speed for quite some time (filled an 8g HD card lol) and this was the best i got: obviously after some minor editing to help highlight what I was trying to show. It is a pick of a White Leg horn day 6 I believe.

Well the way you edited it was really cool. I didn't edit mine at all. I found my camera was way too big to hold and candle at the same time. No one knows how to use the camera but me, so it was a no go. My iPhone did just fine I think.

I thought using one of the white eggs would make it simple! I can see it even in moderate lighting. I'm definitely going to try it with the cellphone today and see what I get!

It's disappointing when it looks so awesome in real time, and the camera just distorts it.. Here are some of my best with the camera. This took a lot of time

the hardest part is getting a good picture once the embryo has started to get defined limbs. the shadows show so much detail, but it is completely lost! I saw person on youtube that was able to get a very good video of embryo movmement. here is the link:

I have gotten a decent video before, but have no idea where it is. I love watching them kick once they get defined limbs.

I keep looking for interesting ways to show how they are changing. I am doing this is a project for a group of 2nd graders and I really want to show them the different stages they go through and how they develop. They keep asking about videos of them hatching, so I'm trying ot keep them engaged with pictures and videos until then.

Anything short of cracking open my bad eggs or quitters... no thank you!

I have cracked open quitters early on. It's very interesting, and has never smelled. I like to see what went wrong, but never really am able to tell
