I think we all knew I was going to do it, lol.
I started with 36 in the first batch.
1 blood ring pulled D4
5 clears (4 are very dark eggs, though)
10 with veins
20 beans

Now I want to candle. It's day 5. I have 5 maran eggs in the mix and can't see nothing.

By comparing the current weights, the average weight loss is 4.2% at Day 6.25. Sweet spot is 4.2-4.6% on D7. No tweaking needed, yay!

Going to try the Tupperware container method of finding my stinky egg. Or eggs... whoever mentioned that earlier today, thank you! It’s so far back in the thread already, it would take 20 minutes of reading to figure who said it.

Okay my next three are in lockdown but not raising the humidity right now it's at 26 that's with about 1/2 cup of water in the coffee cup not high enough to engage the sponge but giving off humidity from the cup itself. Does that sound okay or should I raise it higher? Humidity in the regular incubator is only around 18-20%

All of the questionable eggs are good and we saw movement in them.

I’m going to have to do a staggered hatch in one of my incubators in about a week and I plan on keeping it around 40% after lockdown until I see a pip and then bringing it up closer to 50% but that’s just what I’m thinking of doing. I’m no pro.

I wasn't going to candle my broodies eggs until D7 but with all this talk of candling I went ahead with it a day early. 1 clear and 3 developing well.. Much better than last time when I purchased my Silkie 6 olive eggers and got 5 clear and one chick that ended up a cockerel
