There is a small external crack. Baby chirping when I talk to it. Egg moving around.

How long has the little crack/pip been there?

Ok, so the third toes are there, they're just little nubbins. I've heard of this before and I can't remember what it's called. It is genetic if I'm remembering properly though. Marans seem to be prone to more foot problems than most. My friend had a Marans with webbed toes.

In humans it's called brachydactyly.

D14 for broody hens egg, I just candled it and all is how it should be. 4 more days before I will allow myself to candle the eggs in the incubator (D7)

I candled a few eggs yesterday(D5) and found one that had a very dark spider veins is this normal with olive eggs

Tomorrow is hatchery for the first lonely egg (1 of 14 shipped eggs) .. at least tractor supply helped me out with a few friends for it after she hatches... lol.

My husband came home yesterday from a out of town trip with 4 turkey chicks, 2 ducklings and 2 chicks. I have no brooder room for turkeys so I will spent my off day making a new brooder. I know nothing about turkeys, someone help me out on the need to know please.

My hubby checked on it when he got up and it was still chirping and moving. I got up 10minutes later and we have a new baby chick. It’s fussing up a storm right now.

Turkey poults are dummies. I'd keep them with the chicks. Chicks will teach them to eat and drink. I've raised mine on chick crumbles because a game bird feed can be hard to find. You can use flock raiser too. Turkeys have great personalities and can bond easily to humans. They just don't have much in the way of brains. So think of anyway they can get into trouble and then try to turkey proof it. What kind are they?
