Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

I know there is a lady north of here in Tucson with Emu hatching eggs. I think her ad was on craigslist or facebook marketplace

Our Day 1 is the same but I’m incubating chickens so my hatch date is March 4th.

Is that light built into your incubator or something you have separately?

It's built in. I didn't expect it to be as good as it is.

Hopefully this video link works. Its a cheapy, and doesn't really have a name but on youtube its called HHD incubator. Says it holds 12 eggs, but I can fit 12 duck eggs in it so you may fit a couple more chicken eggs. I want to use it as my hatching incubator in spring as my old incubators a janoel 48.

I've heard that of the cheapy incubators that people have better luck with the black top vs the yellow top. I think this must be what they're referring to. Very interesting! I look forward to seeing how your hatch goes!

So today I saw my female guinea limping. I haven’t let them free range in over a week or so. I thought maybe the boys were picking on her and that’s why she had a limp. Turns out she had twine/string wrapped around both her feet!! I wonder if it happened the last time she free ranger because I cleaned their coop recently and that string is what my husband uses to put up fences and he hasn’t put up fences in a while. Poor thing. We were able to cut the strings and clean her real well. I have her in a small rabbit hutch to heal. She is not happy. I can hear her and the males just wrecking up a storm wanting to be all together again.
