Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

I'm pretty basic when I add water to an incubator that doesn't have an external port I just use a condiment container and a straw and put it in through the vent hole, lol!

Fed the chicks some scraps (February hatch a long chicks) they're living them. They're actually outside now. It's 70 out today so they're loving the weather right now.

I'm moving mine outside today. Much colder than your temps but they're escaping the brooder now. That's always my sign to move them to the barn. They'll be 4 weeks this Wednesday/Friday.

Do you still have all yours? I know you added some bantams. They looked so cute and sweet. I've thinned down to 15 chicks from Feb hatch to grow out. Should have some nice hens to chose from and a couple big roosters to keep them company.

I still have all my February chicks. The bantams I bought are inside. They'll escape the brooder I think. I'll wait until the ducks are gone to put them in the shed.

It's not because your incubator is plastic, it's just one of the tougher incubators to find a "sweet spot" for humidity with from what I've heard. I'm sure you'll figure it out quickly since you've been researching and monitoring closely! I've had a bunch of incubators, my favorites are still plastic models. The Nurture Right 360 and IncuView are both nice and I now have a Brinsea that when running it empty has held really consistently but I haven't hatched in it yet. If you go for styrofoam I usually recommend Hovabator, it's a heavier styrofoam body and lots of people love them.

What day are you on in incubation? The air cells look good for day 18 but the candling image you shared I'm not so sure about. Might just be hard to see in the picture.
That picture was on day 11 or 12 so about a week before is the candled picture

I'm down to just 3 of the Silkies from the February hatch. I meant to keep a Salmon Faverolle and 6 Silkies but I couldn't say no to people when they asked for chicks. I can always hatch more! lol
