Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

Hi, all! Jumping on to say I've just set 15 eggs--14 CCL + another of my marans as a fertility check. Of course, I wouldn't be me if I weren't continuing to bid on chicks and eggs all over the place. :lau My hatch is due 3/19

What does everyone else have cooking?

Hello! Good luck! :jumpy :jumpy :jumpy :jumpy :jumpy :jumpy :jumpy

So you need to have your auctioning rights revoked too huh? But there are so many different chims one can make!

Staggered hatch, again... Darn it.

Day 5 - Hatch day 3/14
12 Silver Deathlayers
8 Silkie bantam x Silver Sebright cross
6 Speckled Russian Orloff x Sebright cross

Day 0 - Hatch day 3/19
7 Silver Spitzhaubens

The other half kicked the brooder box out of the house 🧐 all 40 chicks went out to the small coop. I’ll just take over the cabin then!

Scary sight after work... pulled in the driveway, put the truck in park (so glad I was facing the way I was) bald eagle was swooping through the chicken area. Ran as fast as I could, just in time to scare the teenage chickens into the main coop run and scare off the eagle. So... everyone will be staying inside the run tomorrow, no free ranging. Rainy day recess?

How rude of me... left out the 6 emus! Hatch day is around 3/28.

Jersey Giants are my favorite. I've never had pullets though, only Cockerels.

Thanks everyone for the reviews on incubator. I think I may keep looking for now.

I'm on day 17 I will stop turning tonight. I have one duck egg that is a few days behind so I will keep turning it. Tractor Supply here has chicks and ducklings now! My husband was trying to get me to buy ducklings yesterday but I'm going to wait til after this hatch.

They have khaki Campbell's, mallards, crested Pekin , and white layers. Anyone have any advice on how to sex them at a few days old?

Good to see you joining us my fellow hatchaholic! :highfive:
I currently have Olive Eggers and Sebastopol Goose eggs in the incubators and I'm waiting to hear that some Ayam Cemanis, Bantam Buff Cochins, and BBS Marans are ready to pick up. :D
