Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

@livhatcher for some reason I can't send you a private message but I remembered you saying you got chicks from Greenfire Farms right? I came across some unsettling info on Facebook that I was going to forward to you if you want to message me first that may work. I didn't want to hijack the hatch-a-long. Lol

So Tractor Supply got their order of chicks today. I really wanted to get some today, but we had a get-together we had to attend and it got late before we knew it. I’m hoping my husband can go first thing tomorrow morning to get some!! Not too many since I have a bunch in my incubator due to hatch in 5 days. This is the only one that caught my attention, so I hope there are some left tomorrow.
Edited to add: they are probably Easter Eggers, but I’m just as excited! I’m just happy I got some girls for less than $3 a piece.

I'm using a wafer thermostat and I think some bulb I'm not sure yet what I'm doing. I think they have other ways to heat too.

I watched a video on YouTube of a woman who made a reptile incubator from a wine cooler so I was thinking about using her technique. She got a heat roll or something like that I forget what she called it but it was like aluminum or something and it had heating elements inside of it. It has adhesive on the back side of it so she just rolled it out and put it all along the back side of the cooler.

What I worry about the most is whatever heating device you use, will the thermostat work right? Do you just place or install the element and try to get it around the right temp? I havent done much research, so should probably do that

Or bite the bullet and get the Brinsea cabinet... it’s obvious we all have a problem, might as well treat myself like a true addict :p
