I met two farms on Craigslist... One I give roosters to and they give me free fertile eggs in exchange. The other farm I pay, but it's not much and they have very rare breeds but most of the offspring is barnyard mix since they don't separate unless it's their polish.
It's nice to have fertile eggs in your backyard. That's exactly what I do. I see which rooster is mating with who and pick my eggs.I have Gumtree which I guess is like Craigslist, but I find there isn't many of the eggs I'm after on it. I did find a bloke who will take all my spare cockerels though which is great. My current eggs are from a breeder I found in a chicken facebook group and I guess he can supply me with lots of eggs.
Honestly thinking about it I don't know what I'm complaining about, I have a few breeds I'm waiting to mature then I can just start hatching their eggs whenever I feel like it
You do need eggs for the Easter hatch@livhatcher it's like I couldn't control my fingers and BAM I opened the rarebreedauctions website you posted again, upon which I saw Isbar eggs, then I hopped on eBay to see if there was anyone closer selling Isbar eggs...now I see that there's someone in Bainbridge, GA. The the slippery slope to see what other breeds they had for sale. Sebastopol geese, Porcelain and White Duccles, Isbars...stop me, stop me from sending them a message to see if I can do local pick up.

Glad I could help... I convinced my husband yesterday that I need a bantam flock. He said okay as long as I don't buy chicks a TSC. He's not fond of buying a chickens from hatcheries or feed stores because of all the diseases that you could get. So more eggs in the bator once I move these darn duck eggs out!
