Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

fort cluck did you like your farm innovators incubator? did you do anything special during hatch?
I had a bunch of thermometers in the beginning because I found a few colder spots...

I usually move the eggs around every day or every other day so all the eggs get equal time in all the spots. I don't use water unless I'm doing duck eggs which doesn't happen often here.

Did yours come with the turner? I love all the eggs up a row every day or every other day.

I love this incubator. Only issue is cleaning. It's best to put a shelf liner in when you take your eggs out of the turner so that it doesn't make a huge mess on the bottom because it is a pain to get out. The first hatch I did I didn't do the shelf liner and a lot of the shells and debris got stuck in the styrofoam part. I also had a bunch of other stuff like insides of the egg get stuck on so I had to soak it for a while.

I like my Farm Innovator, too.

I had to turn up the heat a bit, and no body touches the walls.
My heat is up to 101.5 I think. It holds at 99.5 when it's that temp on mine.

Where you put it in the room really helps too. Farthest away from the outside of your house. Close curtains in the room it's in too.

I have to set mine lower, 98.5, to get 99.5.

If it makes you feel better the only incubators I haven't had to adjust are the Nurture Right 360s and the Brinsea and I'm pretty sure that was just chance. It's common for incubators to need adjustment which is why I always recommend using a calibrated thermometer to reset them. I didn't dislike the Farm Innovators incubator, I actually preferred it to the Hovabator, there are so many people that prefer the Hovabator that when I list off incubators by preference I usually put the Farm Innovators just below Hovabator but my experiences with the two were very similar.
